The Right Choice
Adam Kepple, Head Boy, told parents of Year 6 pupils that he had ‘made the right choice’ five years ago when he joined the school. He felt that the school has treated him as an individual and guided him to achieve his potential, preparing him well for the next stage in his education.
Congratulations ....
Student James Bishop, took part in 12 races in challenging winds, tides and the cold. James subsequently qualified as part of the GB team for Laser 4.7 World and European Championships at Lake Balaton, Hungary in July 2013. He will be raising money to support his attendance and for equipment required. Many Congratulations
Chloe Lepage, has won the Females Schoolgirl National ABA Championship Title. This is also an historic victory for Weymouth Boxing Club not only because Chloe is the first girl in Weymouth to win the Championship Title but it is the first time that the Title has been brought back to Weymouth. Having only started boxing a year ago all credit must go to Chloe for achieving such a high level in the sport. Chloe has received a certificate and gold medal. Many congratulations Chloe.
Qualifications for the World of Work
Pupils in year 11 are aware of how important it is to gain recognisable qualifications. Some are especially glad to have gained their Chartered Institute for Environmental Health Officers Certificate within the Foundation Learning course.
Kyle Poyser was happy to accept a job at the Pastry Parlour bakery during the summer holidays. He told his teachers and friends the CIEHO qualification helped him to gain employment, valuable work experience and during the break he discovered his qualification was the same as the adults he was working with, which made him feel proud.
