EdExcel Examination Board

You are required to do four projects for the ICT Full GCSE,  which must include a Spreadsheet project and a Database project.  (Short course ICT requires two projects one of which must be spreadsheet or database)

For each.... marks are awarded for the five stages of a report on your project...

• Identify the problem (5 marks)
• Analyse the problem (9 marks)
• Design your solution (9 marks)
• Implement your solution (12 marks)
• Evaluate the solution (5 marks)

To help you we are putting copies of the task sheets for each here on the website, and on our portal pages (in school they are also available on Drive T).  We also have templates available to help you get started... you may use them if you wish, but either way, ensure you cover all the points in the guidelines if you want top marks. They can be downloaded as Word documents so you can work on them.

Alternative project:

Some students who use ICT as a major component of coursework in another subject, eg programming in Electronic Products or music technology in a Music option, may be able to submit the content of this project for ICT, provided the project report follows the general pattern given above.  This will need to be agreed with your ICT teacher at an early stage.
