We are a group of local people with responsibility for the strategic direction of the school. There are 16 governors, with 3 representatives from our parents, 9 from local churches, 1 appointed by the education authority, and 3 representing the school staff. The usual term of office for governors is 4 years and any vacancies are advertised both at the school and locally. A list of our current governors can be found below.
Nationally, governors form the largest group of volunteers.
What do we do?
We strive to ensure that the school serves its community by providing education of the highest quality in a supportive atmosphere based on Christian values.
We meet during the school term, both as a full governing body and through our committees, to support the school in continuing to raise standards of achievement for all our pupils. Working together with the school, we set and monitor development priorities, targets, policies and the budget and we act as critical friends to the head teacher and other staff.
