Pupils were in for a treat when Mr R Foote presented his master class in ‘The art of chocolate.’ Mr Foote took them back in time starting with the Incas use of cocoa and how the desire for this product has brought about its production today.
He explained to the group how he personally progressed from chef’s school, working his way around the world and his career path into teaching. He is very passionate about passing on skills to the younger generation.
The children witnessed a true craftsman as he tempered his chocolate into various shapes using a range of specialist tools. Some were lucky to help make truffles and we all assisted when required to eat them.
