All Saints started the brighter out of the two teams and showed lots of good phases of possession. They had a couple of good chances which really should have been converted but showed a lot of promise within the first 15 minutes. Thankfully this was rewarded as Archie Woolford went on one of his trademark runs and calmly slotted the ball home.
Unfortunately, All Saints didn’t keep the momentum and allowed Colfox back into the game with a soft goal to concede.
All Saints then pushed again for another goal and Archie Woolford again was clinical by notching his second of the game after creating the opportunity himself.
Half time arrived with All Saints very much in control.
Colfox came out for the second half much more enthusiastic than All Saints and within 5 minutes of the restart then had pushed into a 3-2 lead due to some sloppy all round team play by All Saints.
Luckily, Woolford was a man on a mission and responded to claim his hatrick with a neat finish.
All Saints won a corner which was flicked on and Cody Sparrow improvised expertly to swivel and volley the ball home into an empty net to put All Saints into a 4-3 lead.
Woolford was in irresistible form and decided to accelerate away with the ball and, after dibbling past 2 players, rounded the keeper and slotted home into an empty net to claim his fourth of the game and make it 5-3.
However, they didn’t want to make it easy for themselves as they had numerous chances to clear from a corner which was then converted by the Colfox striker, 5-4.
Again, conceding a goal rallied All Saints and sparked a positive reaction. They began dominating possession again and showing good passages of passing football. This was rewarded when a flicked on corner by Tom Butcher was drilled across goal by Woolford and Jonny Wilson tapped the ball into an open goal to make it 6-4.
5 minutes remaining, again, All Saints failed to deal with another corner which directly hit the post from the initial corner and rebounded into the striker’s path to tap home. 6-5.
All Saints managed to hold on for a deserved win and finishing their final All Saints game as Area Cup Champions – huge congratulations!
