Welcome to Week 5 of the blog, but the end of week 1 in lockdown across the UK – a sentence I never thought I would write.
I’ll keep it fairly short and sweet this week if that’s ok – I think we’ve probably all had more than enough communication for a few days.
I’d just like to say a huge thank you to everyone in our community. This has been a whole new learning experience for all of us and in such a difficult time.
Thank you to parents who have fed back to us throughout the week. We’ve listened to the feedback that we’ve possibly set a bit too much work this week and will try a slightly more paced approach next week! If you are finding that we are setting too much, or too little, please get in touch with us via your child’s Head of Year in the first instance. We don’t want to overburden anybody but equally, we want to continue to push on where students need more!
Next week will bring a new set of challenges to overcome. I will write with a definite position on Free School Meals at the start the week as well as outlining some possible thoughts on work packs and even in due course, video conferencing. But all of these will fall into place as we learn to adjust to the reality that faces us for a while.
What’s important is that everyone stays safe and has a bit of downtime over the weekend to enjoy family and some time off from “home” school……we will begin again next week.
God bless you and your family at this time
